Oh, man.

Teased several days ago, Ty Dolla $ign delivers on his new J. Cole joint track, “Purple Emoji.” Somehow, it’s exceeded the hype.

Announced through an IG snippet on May 16th, the 19-second video shows an emphatic Ty dancing in the studio to his new song with Cole, vibing to the smooth stylings that complement his raspy vocals oh so well. Produced by MXXWLL and former J. Cole collaborator T-Minus, who supplied the “MIDDLE CHILD” instrumental, the “Purple Emoji” beat perfectly structures both Ty and Cole’s breezy flows.

In the accompanying caption, Ty penned, “First song off my new album drops next week. My brada @JColeNC and I came up with this jam a few months back in NYC and off top I knew it was the first one I wanted y’all to hear. It’s called PURPLE EMOJI .”

“Purple Emoji” marks the first these two king’s first pairing, begging for future collaborations as their complementary yet distinct vocal textures coalesce to create an incredibly soothing, endearing product.
