With a little help from Daniel Caesar.

In keeping with last year’s theme of debuting music on late night talk shows, Chance The Rapper took to ‘The Late Show’ to perform new music alongside R&B standout, Daniel Caesar.

Soft guitar strings establish the tonally somber vibe that adequately complements Chance’s spoken-word delivery and contemplative thinking, writing. The bare bones aesthetic allows Chance to display his deeply poetic side that has captured the hearts and ears of millions; a simple blue back drop constitutes the scenery, highlighting the beauty of Chance’s simplicity.

He discusses a bevy of topics ranging from caring for his two-year-old daughter, to being honest with his fans about needing some time off, specifically with the following lines: “I really need a break, I could really use a nap / My daughter can barely recognize me when I lose the hat.”

The spoken-word pattern graduates to a delicately-delivered singing voice that welcomes supplementation from Daniel Caesar, who’s also playing the guitar. The two pair well together, as Caesar offers a soulful punctuation mark to Chance’s melodic song. Eventually though, Chance sheds the soft-spoken flow to offer a more exuberant delivery. It’s all versions of Chance combined for an enchanting product.
