Hov, The New Face Of The Brooklyn Nets?

Hov will never let us forget where he’s from. And since he owns a small piece of the Brooklyn Nets (this new name has been confirmed today), he’s setting up a series of opening concerts for the grand-opening for The Barclays Center. It will be officially opening September of next year, but Jay is definitely working towards promoting the Brooklyn Nets and the Center. All this construction on Atlantic and Flatbush Avenue has been an inconvenience but after hearing what’s to come, I’m a bit excited.

All-access passes are going up for 15 grand (what?!), but that’s a small price for getting all access to seeing Jay-Z and most likely Beyonce along with access to clubs, free food, first dibs on concert tickets, boxing matches and much more. However this really puts New York b’ball enthusiasts in a predicament… who will they be rooting for The Knicks or The Brooklyn Nets. As far as I’m concerned, the marketing plan seems to be targeting the hip hop nation by officially making “Jay-Z… the face of the team’s fourth-quarter campaign,” the Nets CEO Brett Yormark stated. Also their main focus as well is to grab attention to the Lower Manhattan dwellers, the Wall Street people and the SoHo shoppers by hyping up the easy commute to Brooklyn.

How does Hov feel about it? He can’t help but get a little “giddy” talking about it. Coming from Marcy Projects, he feels as though this business deal is bringing him back to his root. He appeared on Fox News talking about the great news. Watch below.
