Whattup everybody… Pretty slow week it seemed like. Maybe just coming back from that memorial day daze…
Anyway, here’s the album sales from the week of 5/26:
Electrik Red “How To Be a Lady Vol. 1” – 4,963 (36% digital)
Scratch “Loss 4 Wordz” – 171
Checking back in…
Method Man & Red Man “The Blackout 2” – 1,200 2nd week (total 7,171)
Eminem “Relapse” – 210,985 2nd week (65% drop)
Here’s a couple choice tidbits that I picked up on in the news this week:
• The dawning of a new day @ Major Labels?
Imeem was being killed by the money it had to pay out to major labels, but anticipating the streaming site’s importance to the viral/grassroots spread of music, the labels eased off. Forward thinking or more catch-up?
• Last year recorded-music revenues worldwide fell by 8% to $18.3 billion
As usual, get at me with questions, comments, etc.
till next week.
peace
