It’s Tiller season.
Yestesrday, Bryson Tiller threw the Twitter sphere into a frenzy when he tweeted a meme of a kid wielding a large backpack, captioned with “Me” (alluding to the kid) and “Unreleased” (alluding to the backpack). Fans instantly starting interacting with the post, begging Bryson to stop toying with their emotions, and to pry open just a taste of this alleged recording vault. Well, it looks like the patrons’ cries have not fallen on deaf ears, as the TRAPSOUL artist has come through with a new record, “Inhale.”
Not only has Bryson released his first single in what feels like an eternity, but he also accompanied this track with an official music video.
On-brand for the pioneering standout, “Inhale” is a soulful and pensive offering that somehow justifies Bryson’s palpable hiatus — it fits in securely with some of his best material. He croons effortlessly over the R&B soundscape about a lover’s quarrel, taking listeners through his emotional thought process when presented with romantic friction. Admitting fault, Bryson adjusts his rearview mirror to gain hindsight clarity about his own shortcomings, and how they’ve contributed to the unbinding of his relationship.
“Inhale” samples Mary J. Blige’s “Not Gon’ Cry” and SWV’s “All Night Long.”
