We reported in January about the difficulties Andre 3000 was facing with his exclusive Benjamin Bixby clothing line due to over pricing and a limited demographic to whom the clothes attracted CLICK HERE TO READ but hard work obviously pays off as Andre was in Canada this week unveiling the line of pastel sweaters and striped shirts and various other garments to fashion connoisseurs up north in Toronto. Obviously the line isn’t going under after all but when questioned by a journalist as to what obstacles he faced in bringing such a high end line to the stores, Andre stated that being black and not being gay were issues he faced, saying “being an African-American was a challenge, as there’s a perception out there that ‘hip-hop stars will just throw their names on anything.’”
In other Andre 3000 news, his cartoon The Class of 3000 which has been running on the Cartoon Network for over two years will be hitting the stage when it comes to life for a series of dates in Atlanta. The one hour play will be showing at the Alliance Theatre up until March 29th with hopes of it going on the road to various other cities throughout the Summer.

  1. Glad to hear this guy is doin great. It does seem a bit odd why he chose those type of clothing line to begin with. It is rare for African-American hiphop artist to venture into this kind of business.

  2. he consistenly landed himself in the best dressed list. this is probably what he was banking on in trying to be a designer. he should’ve started down. i mean, why create high-end products when he is not a designer in the first place?

  3. Luv his music but I think kanye’s gonna be the only rapper that can pull off tha fashion and clothing line thing.I mean come on, I’ve never seen any1 except for LL Cool J to wear his clothing line.
