Once upon a time, long before the invention of the internet in 2006, there was something called Black Entertainment Television. It was one of the main media that we underprivileged peons used to obtain and learn about new rap music. We would boot up our desktop computers, type a song title into the Kazaa search bar, and download a 96 kbps rip of any and all tracks. Boy, were we spoiled.
Fast forward to the present day, 2013. Last night marks the one moment a year that hip hop culture unites to acknowledge BET’s continuing existence, and at least pretend to care about them: The BET Hip Hop Awards. With the awards comes the infamous cyphers, which bring together rap’s biggest and baddest names over generic instrumentals.
This year’s cypher participants included the TDE, A$AP Mob, Slaughterhouse, Action Bronson, Lil Kim, Travis Scott, Problem and more.
Check out all six cyphers and our corresponding grades on the following pages, then give us your own take. Take the poll below and leave your opinion in the comments section.

Even before I’ve read it, I just new that the Drizzy Diss would be featured here. You can’t write about K. dot in the BET without it.
For me it is Slaughterhouse that wins
I think A$AP Mob could do better than this. I was thinking maybe at least Ferg or Rocky were not in their elements.
What happened to Lil Kim?
Somebody voted for Lil Kim?
The Real Husbands of Hollywood was the best in my opinion!
